Proverbs 16:7

When a man's ways please the LORD, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

PROVERBS 6 : 16-19

16)These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: 17) A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18) An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19) A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Food for thought

It is illegal to read the Bible in the public schools of Illinois, but a law requires the STATE to provide a Bible for every convict! Don't worry, kids, if you can't read the Bible in school, you'll be able to when you get to prision! Baptist Beacon.

I am new to the blogging scene. But I do love to talk, or in this case write. I know that the world is growing and becoming more modern every day.I think that some of the changes are good, but some of the changes are not so good. Like the tv, fast food and restraunts to name but a few. I do watch tv and jimmy and I eat out occasionally. But now a day's video games are making games so that you can get exercise in front of the tv. No one cooks nor doe's the family sit around the dinner table. Families don't talk to one another. The world wants to know what happened to the family unit. What caused the break down of the traditional family? I've named a few things . We need to take back our families and teach them how to love and get rid of hate. You can't change the whole world but you can briten the corner where you are. We need to let the Lord back into our lives.

  1. Hi Cathy! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. It's nice to meet you.
Now that I know you're here, I'll be stopping by here and checking in on you!! :-)
By the way... very interesting bit of information at the top of your blog... doesn't make much sense how our government thinks, does it?!

  2. Hi Pam! I was so glad to see that you had been here. I was beginning to think that me and my blog was all alone here. It's so nice meeting you to. I welcome you back any time you care to come back. I get so lonely here some times. I know that I am never completely alone because Jesus is always with me.
But it's nice to have some one I can see and hear, or write.I do believe with all my heart that our schools and government are in the shape they are in because they took Jesus out of every thing. But one day they won't be able to keep Him out. Praise the Lord!I have 3 children & 4 grandchildren. All in Alabama. I miss them something terrible. I love the pictures of your babies and the mountians. God gave us so many beautiful places and things to see, how sad they are taken for granet. And it is truly amazing how far the Lord can stretch the human body to accomadate our babies until they are born. Then spring us back in to shape after they are born.

  3. Hi, Cathy! It was a pleasure seeing your comment on my blog. Thanks so much for visiting it. Hang in there! You may not think people are coming in, but you will be surprised how many do, even those in other countries. I only wish they would always leave a comment like you did! :o)

Yes, our world - and our country - is in one big mess, but it won't be long before our Lord returns to straighten everything out. I'm looking forward to it! In the meantime, keep writing for Him!

  6. Cathy, to answer your question you posted on my blog yesterday, there are several ways you can improve your blog. Blogger has a lot of tips that are helpful, so check them out. A few things I have done are things like hyperlinking my blog name on all my emails so that my contacts only have to click on it to visit (think how many times emails get forwarded to others!), and notifying my "friends" on Facebook when I have posted on the blog. Blogger also encourages you to visit other blogs and comment, like you have done, so that others will visit yours.

I don't know what kind of topics you will be writing about. Determine right away your style and the issues you want on your blog. I love your first two posts. They are poignant and reflect you and your values. As you can see from mine, it's not a family or personal blog; rather a general Christian blog that covers many topics related to the Church (although, on occasion, I do write about personal experiences, but they always are supported by Scripture). Start creating "Labels" for your topics so that your visitors can see all your articles that relate to that topic.

Keep your blog "eye friendly"; in other words, add links, gadgets and widgets, and things that interest your readers. I don't use ads on my blog so that I can get paid, but that is a personal choice. Also, be sure your post is neat and clean, free of too many typos, good punctuation, etc., and supports your statement and conclusion.

Another suggestion is to give your posts titles. A lot of people Google a specific word or phrase that brings them to your blog. I have seen this many times when I see I was discovered through a search, and often have to go through several Google pages before I come to my blog! (God does work in mysterious ways! lol) Use key words and phrases that are common to grab their eye.

I also have a traffic counter that shows you who visited and where they are from (Bravenet Free Counter). You can find it on the RH column on my blog - down the page a bit. Just click on it and it will take you to the website where I got it. I use the free, basic counter. There are several others I've seen on other blogs that are pretty neat, but they require a monthly fee. You can pay for more service on the one I get, too. The free counter will show you the last 10 visitors in 24 hrs worldwide on a map, and then by clicking on "Recent Hits", will show you their URL. But the neat part about it is that you can visit your visitor's blogs from it by opening a new page and typing in their URL.

I also use Bible Gateway (I have their widget on the RH column, too). It's a wonderful website and is very useful in giving your readers an opportunity to read Scripture citations directly from your post by hyperlinking them in your text.

Anyway...those are just a few things I have done. It's a on-going process. I find things on other people's blogs that I borrow for my own and I'm still adding and removing and trying to improve it. Try Googling "free blog widgets and gadgets", blog help, etc. There are also several free blog template sites to dress up your background, headers, banners, etc.

I hope this has helped you! I wish you the best in your blogging endeavor!

    Karen
